چکیده

Under increasing time-to-market pressures in the electric drives industries, the development time of new algorithms and new control systems including their debugging time must be minimized. This requirement can be satisfied only by using a well-defined system-level design methodology and by reducing the migration time between the algorithm development language and the hardware specification language. In this study, we propose to apply the SpecC methodology to the design of control systems for power electronics and electric drives. We first begin with an executable specification model of the control device. Then, we describe the different steps and transformations used to convert this model to a communication model and finally into an implementation model ready for manufacturing.

Control-Scheduling Codesign: A Perspective on Integrating Control and Computing

Despite rapid evolution, embedded computing systems increasingly feature resource constraints and workload uncertainties. To achieve much better system performance in unpredictable environments than traditional design approaches, a novel methodology, control-scheduling codesign, is emerging in the context of integrating feedback control and real-time computing. The aim of this work is to provid...

Hardware/Software Codesign of the Stanford FLASH Multiprocessor

Hardware/software codesign is a methodology for solving design problems in systems with processors or embedded controllers where the design requirements mandate a functionality and performance level for the system, independent of the hardware and software boundary. In addition to the challenges of functional correctness and total system performance, design time is often a critical factor. To de...

Real-Time Embedded Multiprocessor Signal Processing System Codesign Using Open-Standards Computation and Communication Middleware

There is a recognized need to improve the design methodology of large real-time embedded signal processing systems implemented with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) multiprocessor (MP) hardware and software. Some very useful and effective detailed codesign tool frameworks have begun to appear, which allow the designer to create deployable real-time application software for COTS MP systems. Still...

A Simulator for Embedded Systems Design

Hardware Software codesign is an attempt of integration of hardware and software design techniques. A codesign methodology must support the designer from the speciication of system requirements to the implementation of the device. Any codesign methodology needs a tool able to gure time performance of the system. An event{driven simulator has been developed which is able to simulate starting dir...
